Abu Bakr School’s Yemen Crisis Appeal

This Ramadan, we have partnered with Mercy Relief to fundraise for 3 special projects covering malnutrition, bakery and free pharmacies for the people of Yemen. All three schools will be supporting this cause and we urge your kind and generous donations to help support our brothers and sisters in Yemen. Mercy Relief have their own team on the ground that will deliver this project and feedback will be in the form of a completion report, images and video.  This project is 100% donation policy and is applicable for zakat, saddaqah and lillah.

Yemen Needs You

”If anyone saved a life it would be as if he saved the whole of humanity.” (Quran 5:32)

In war-torn Yemen, every ten minutes, an innocent child is dying a preventable death and another mother is losing a child in her arms.

We need to act, now.

Mercy Relief has been working in Yemen since 2008. We’re on the ground delivering essential life-saving aid to those who need it most.

In 2020 we delivered food aid and fresh clean water to 250,000 people.

We opened two free emergency pharmacies and supported two hospitals with medicine and medical equipment.

We are working tirelessly to save lives.

How can you help?

“Whoever removes a grief from a believer from amongst the sorrows of this life, Allah will remove a grief from him amongst the sorrows of the Day of Resurrection” (Muslim)

You can donate a:

£80 Emergency kit –  Provide a nutritious food parcel to a family of seven facing malnutrition and a cholera hygiene kit to help stop the spread of the disease.

£60 Food & water pack – Provide clean safe water and a food parcel to feed a family of seven for a month.

£45 Free pharmacy support – Support our free pharmacy for 3 months ensuring that it stays open to provide free medicine to those who can’t afford it.

£170 Water tank for a household – Provide a water storage tank for a family to help them store their clean safe water.

£180 Home essentials kit – Provide displaced families with essentials like cooking pots, utensils, blankets, and bedding for their makeshift shelters.

People are dying of starvation and preventable diseases and now that funding has been cut, Yemen is on the brink of extinction.

The Prophet’s (PBUH) People

Did you know that the Prophet (PBUH) loved the people of Yemen?

”He (PBUH) said – “The people of Yemen have the most delicate hearts, softest minds and are the most readily obedient.” – (Ahmad)

Will you help the Prophet’s (PBUH) dear ones today?

About 24 million people in the country need humanitarian assistance, that’s 80% of the population, including 12.2 million children.

So far, more than half a million cases of acute malnutrition in young children have been reported in parts of Yemen.

At least 85,000 children under the age of five have already died due to a shortage of food.

This can’t go on.

In 2020 Mercy Relief has:

Provided food aid to more than 120,000

Provided clean fresh water to 130,000

Sponsored over 600 orphans

Supported 2 hospitals during Covid-19

Opened 2 free emergency pharmacies

Provided medical help to more than 10,000 people
