Yemen needs water today – this is how you can help

The Prophet (pbuh) was asked what charity is best. He answered ‘to give water’ [Abu Dawud]

Yemen is one of the world’s most water-scarce countries. Over 14 million Yemenis struggle to find clean water.

Worn out water pumps and sewage treatment facilities have made it near impossible to develop long-lasting solutions for the water shortage.

As a result, the unsanitary water has caused a major outbreak of cholera and acute watery diarrhoea, leading to the country’s worst cholera outbreak in modern history. Unable to afford medication, people have lost their loved ones and there is potential for more deaths if we don’t take action right away.

£60 Clean Safe Water – this will provide 3 families with enough clean water for their daily needs, to last a month.

£170 Water tank for a household – Provide a water storage tank for a family to help them store clean safe water at home. This is a relief for families who have nowhere to store the water we provide for the month.

Mercy Relief’s water campaigns providing fresh water to people in need.

Your donations hold the key to how we can help Yemen

In 2020 we helped provide 130,000 people in Yemen with clean, fresh water – a vital lifeline for their survival. This year, we can reach 300,000 people with your help.

Mercy Relief is on the ground doing whatever it takes to improve the lives of vulnerable Yemenis and save lives.

Help us provide safe clean water to families.

Yemen water crisis appeal

The people of Yemen need you at this critical hour – help quench their thirst and provide life-saving water to prevent diseases like cholera and diarrhoea from spreading and taking more lives.

Help provide long term solutions to last for generations

Water is such a simple gift, but it’s one of the key ways we can help Yemen. When you provide a community with water, you transform their lives completely. This is why providing long-term solutions to water problems through building a water well is considered Sadaqah Jariah; an ongoing charity with never-ending rewards.

You can invest in Sadaqah Jariah and save lives in Yemen this Ramadan by helping us refurbish and build water wells.

£6000 water well refurbishment – You can help us refurbish a water well for a community and provide clean water to thousands of people for generations to come.

£20,000 Build a deep water well – You can help us build a water well for a community that desperately needs it. This will be a deep water well complete with an electrical pump and solar panels.

Our long-term solutions can be an opportunity to fundraise for a Sadaqah Jariah project with family and friends.

This Ramadan, you can maximise your rewards by providing clean safe water to families in Yemen.

Your donation today can make all the difference.
