Cold. Hungry. Malnourished

“If anyone saved a life it would be as if he saved the whole of humanity (Qu’ran 532)

Winter may not be freezing in Yemen, but for displaced families, it could be their coldest yet.

Share your warmth today

For the past three years, Yemen has experienced harsh weather changes. In winter, the temperature can drop dramatically, especially at night, making life hard to bear for those living in flimsy tents and makeshift shelters.

£200 winter pack voucher – will provide a family with warm winter clothing, blankets and mattresses.

£60 Food and water pack – Provide clean safe water and a food parcel to feed a family of seven for a month.

After enduring six years of crisis and dire living conditions, the most vulnerable Yemenis, especially children, breastfeeding mothers, the disabled and the elderly, are weak, hungry, starving, malnourished and unable to cope with the cold.

With escalating prices for food and fuel coupled with a reduction in humanitarian aid to Yemen, staying warm, nourished, and protected from disease, such as COVID-19, is not possible for vulnerable families. They need our help now.

How you can help

Mercy Relief is on the ground now in Yemen delivering life-saving aid, but we can do nothing without your support. Please help us to save lives by sharing your warmth today.

This year we are providing families with monthly food parcels and winter pack vouchers to allow them the freedom and dignity to pick what they need to stay warm.

£200 winter pack voucher – will provide a family with warm winter clothing, blankets and mattresses.

On the brink of famine this winter

This winter, 24 million Yemenis need humanitarian assistance, including 12.2 million children.

At least 85,000 children under the age of five have already died due to a shortage of food, while more than half a million cases of acute malnutrition in young children have been reported in parts of Yemen.

Families desperately need you this winter.

How you have helped so far

In 2020 alone, thanks to you, we provided fresh, clean water to more than 130,000 people, vital food aid to more than 120,000 Yemenis, and nourishing bread to tens of thousands of families.

We supported two hospitals to help cope with the COVID-19 crisis, provided medical aid to more than 10,000 people, and opened two free emergency pharmacies.

We also gave cash aid to over 10,000 people and made a difference by sponsoring 600 orphans, providing them with food, clothing, medical care, education, clean water, and a secure home. Thank you for your continuous support.
