Together for Yemen

For seven years, Yemen has been battling war, hunger and disease. Families have lost everything. Right now, a child dies every ten minutes and without our help, more lives will be lost each passing day. Together we will save lives.

Together we will save lives

“Whoever removes a grief from a believer from amongst the sorrows of this life, Allah will remove a grief from him amongst the sorrows of the Day of Resurrection” (Muslim)

For seven years, Yemen has been battling war, hunger, disease and the effects of climate change. Thousands of people have lost their lives, their homes and their livelihoods, leaving 17.4 million people food insecure.

Right now, the rate of maternal and child malnutrition in Yemen is among the highest in the world. More than 3 million pregnant women, nursing mothers and children under the age of five are suffering from acute malnutrition.

It is shocking that a child dies of hunger every ten minutes. Without our help, more lives will be lost with each passing day.

How many more mothers have to watch their babies take their last breaths in their arms before the world stands together with Yemen?

This Ramadan, Mercy Relief is on the ground delivering life-saving aid to families in Yemen. With your support, we can save precious lives.

Yemen needs you

”If anyone saved a life it would be as if he saved the whole of humanity.” (Quran 5:32)

Save a life now by providing an Emergency Kit.

£85 Emergency Kit – Will provide a nutritious food parcel and clean water to a family of seven facing malnutrition.

£20 Baby Milk – Will provide vulnerable babies with milk for a month, helping mothers struggling to feed their children.

Together we will provide food

This Ramadan, just like last year and the year before, Yemeni families are fasting amidst the world’s worst humanitarian crisis. Millions of Yemenis have nothing to break their fast with. Some go without food for days at a time, and most barely have enough to survive.

The WFP (World Food Programme) has warned that Yemen is on a ‘countdown to catastrophe’ over rising hunger. After seven years of fighting, the country has been ravaged by hunger, starvation, and disease. Most people cannot afford a meal with the Yemeni Rial’s depreciation pushing food prices to their highest levels since 2015.

Now, the Ukraine crisis is expected to worsen the situation as 30 percent of Yemen’s wheat import comes from Ukraine.

No family in Yemen should go hungry this Ramadan

£60 Ramadan Food Parcel – We will provide a food parcel with enough food items to support a family of seven for a month, including dates.

Bread is a lifeline for 10 million Yemenis who are one step away from famine. Right now, we support 12 bakeries providing essential bread to over 28,000 people daily. Together we can feed more people.

£120 Bakery Support – Will provide bread to over 938 hungry people.

Together we will provide healthcare

Due to the conflict, the healthcare system in Yemen collapsed, leaving millions with little or no access to hospitals or medicine. In 2020, we opened two free emergency pharmacies in Yemen. Through this project, thousands of people who cannot afford medicine now have access to it.

£20 Free Pharmacy Support – We will help support our free pharmacies for a month, ensuring that they stay open to provide free medicine to those who can’t afford it.

Together we will provide clean water

Since the beginning of the conflict, over 14 million Yemenis are struggling to access clean water. Families have had to walk for miles every day just to find clean water.

This can’t go on.

£60 Clean Water – We Will provide three families with clean water for their daily needs for a whole month.

£200 Household Water Storage Tank – We will provide a water storage tank for a family to help them store clean safe water at home.

Together we will care for orphans

Orphans are among the most vulnerable children in our world. They need our love, care, and attention. Protecting orphaned children carries with it an unimaginable reward – it’s one of the greatest things you can do in Islam. An act so beloved to Allah SWT.

Sponsor an Orphan

£25 a month – Will provide food, clothes, medical care, clean water, and a home for a Yemeni orphan.

£300 a year – Will sponsor an orphan for a year, providing food, clothes, medical care, clean water, and a home.

Sponsoring an orphan is also a chance to invest in Sadaqah Jariah, an ongoing charity that creates a legacy of joy and blessings for yourself and for others.
