Difficulties obtaining Clean water for drinking or sanitation now affects over 14.4 million people in Yemen. Shortages of resources like fuel are needed to maintain the water supply lines. Also, the state of disrepair in pumps and sewage treatment facilities have made it more difficult to develop long lasting solutions for the water shortage.
The outbreak of cholera and acute watery diarrhea caused by the unsanitary condition of water is problematic. It has potential to become far worse if something isn’t done right away.
With your donations in 2019 we helped establish multiple water wells in areas affected by water shortages. In total we helped provide around 60,000 people with fresh running water.
Mercy Relief is supplying fresh clean water to affected areas. One water tank holds 50 barrels of water and costs only £250. This will supply 50 families at the very least with clean drinkable water.
